We're happy to be starting up an open bluegrass jam at Hambones in Lawrenceville. On the second Sunday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., bring an instrument and an appetite for BLUEGRASS'N'BISCUITS! If you don't pick, just stop by to listen and grab some chow!

Below, check out a short set from this past spring at the beautiful, historic Penn Hebron Garden Club in Penn Hills. Check out all our upcoming shows and come on out for a little homegrown Pittsburgh bluegrass!

Originally conceived as a reference to Pat's default state-of-being between April and September — as in, "We haven't even started the show yet and Pat's sweaty already!" — the Sweaty Already String Band hits the stage with a blend of traditional and modern bluegrass, along with some unexpected covers.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to welcome our newest member, Danny Rectenwald of the Bastard Bearded Irishmen, who was able to make some time in his busy schedule with one of Pittsburgh's best-loved rock bands to put his shirt back on and pick some bluegrass!

One of the best things about the local bluegrass community is how many pals we have with the talent to jump in and pick for an evening. So you never know who you might catch sittin' in and gettin' sweaty with us!
